It is one of the fastest ripening olive breeds of the Aegean Region. It contains approximately 25% oil. Thanks to a fungi species named “Phoma Oleae” widely found at Karaburun, Çeşme, Urla and Foça districts in İzmir, the fruit of this tree is edible without any zesting process and it is also called as “Date Olive”.
